About
About The Modern Trade Toolkit
Our mission is to make modern business systems easier to understand for busy trade and home service businesses.
Why this site exists
Software for contractors is sold in a language most contractors do not speak. Pricing pages talk about pipelines, workflows and integrations. Meanwhile the actual problem is simpler and more frustrating: the phone rang while you were under a sink, the estimate you sent two weeks ago went quiet, and the paperwork is waiting in the truck.
The Modern Trade Toolkit exists to close that gap. We explain the systems that help plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, cleaning, landscaping and similar home service businesses handle inquiries, calls, estimates, customer records, follow-up, scheduling, automation and AI, in language that assumes no technical background.
What we focus on
- Less admin. Removing the repeated, low-value work that eats evenings and weekends.
- Clearer follow-up. Making sure no inquiry or estimate goes quiet by accident.
- Better-run customer journeys. From the first call through to the completed job and the review that follows it.
We are built as an independent educational resource for the United States market. We are not a software vendor, a reseller or an agency, and we do not sell the tools we write about.
Where we are today
This is an early-stage publication
The topic pages here cover the fundamentals. Independent buyer guides, comparisons and practical tools are currently being built, and we will publish them only when they meet the standards set out on our editorial standards page.
Contact
A published contact address is coming shortly. We have deliberately not added a contact form yet, because we do not want to imply that messages are being received and read when no inbox is connected to this site.
Once a contact system is live, this section will list the email address to use for corrections, editorial questions and press inquiries. We will not add newsletter signup or email collection until there is something worth sending.
